Clarksville to host first Chalk Walk Festival

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The first-ever Clarksville Chalk Walk Festival is set for Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. at the Clarksville Town Hall building, according to a press release.

The Clarksville Parks Department is searching for talented artists who are interested in competing for prizes and bragging rights.

Competitors will be divided up into several categories including professional artist, amateur artist, and children. There will also be a family category for families
interested in working together. Chalk will be provided as part of the $5 entry fee.

Professional artists are being asked to bring their own chalk. Artists interested in registering for the Chalk Walk should visit>

Officials say the goal of the festival is to promote the arts in southern Indiana. Local non-profit arts groups, such as school and community art clubs are invited to set up booths at the festival free of charge. Interested groups should contact the Clarksville Parks Department at 812-283-5313.
Food vendors and music and entertainment will also be offered during the event.

The Clarksville Town Hall is located at 2000 Broadway Street in Clarksville.
