POLICE: Robber apologizes to victim before taking money

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say they've arrested a robber who told his victim he was sorry for the crime and explained why he felt he had to commit it.

Police say that earlier this year, 42-year-old Christopher Robinson walked into the Family Dollar on Dixie Highway, near Millers Lane, armed with a handgun, and demanding business cash. After he was handed the money, police say Robinson told the victim, "Sorry for this, but times are tough."

He then ran away on foot.

Robinson was apprehended Wednesday night. He is charged with robbery.
