LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested after police say he intentionally set his ex-girlfriend's car on fire, according to police records.

Darnell Mallory was taken into custody Monday morning after authorities say he set his ex-girlfriend's car on fire on Russett Place.

Court records indicate that there had been an on-going domestic situation between Mallory and his former girlfriend. Authorities say Mallory had sent several texts to his ex-girlfriend prior to the fire being set. Court records also state that Mallory had been kicked out of his ex-girlfriend's place of employment.

Evidence discovered by authorities at the scene was determined to have been purchased by Mallory.

Mallory is charged with arson.
