Dept. of Homeland Security says not to use Internet Explorer

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Department of Homeland Security is warning computer users to not use the Internet if your browser is Internet Explorer.

A security firm discovered a flaw that makes users vulnerable to hackers.

Officials are encouraging people to stay away from Internet Explorer until Microsoft develops a solution.

It's a rare move from Homeland Security to issue such a warning.

Microsoft released a statement saying the company is aware of "limited targeted attacks" and encourages customers to follow the security advisory until the fix is complete. There is no word yet on when the problem will be solved.
