LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he shot a person just outside of a daycare center, endangering not only the victim, but also several children inside the center.

The incident took place on Tuesday, April 29, at 4 p.m., on S. 45th St., near W. Broadway.

Police say 56-year-old Christopher Wallace grabbed a shotgun and shot the victim twice in the back, causing serious physical injury.

According to the arrest report, an unidentified daycare center was "directly in the line of the suspect's fire" and Wallace's actions "created substantial danger of death or serious physical injury" to 60 children inside.

Wallace was arrested Tuesday night and charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment.

The condition of the victim is not known.
