LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A deadly shooting could lead to security changes at Purdue University.
A committee has recommended that all students be automatically registered to receive emergency text alerts. It comes after a deadly shooting in January when a student killed a fellow classmate inside the Electrical Engineering Building on the West Lafayette campus.
Another security concern people have raised: classroom doors without locks.
To make the changes to more than 40,000 doors it would cost about $500 each.
