Ky. Gov. Steve Beshear says no need for a special session

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear says he won't likely call lawmakers back for a special session.

Republican Senate President Robert Stivers has asked for one to pass a bill combating heroin use. Democratic House Speaker Greg Stumbo has also requested a special session to pass ethics reform. But in talking with other leaders, Gov. Beshear says he didn't sense urgency for a special session.

He says agreeing on issues beforehand would keep the session to a minimum of five days if a special session is called.
