LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Floyd County Sheriff's Office says a DirecTV supervisor was attacked by a dog Thursday afternoon when he arrived at a customer's home.

The attack occurred on Nadorff Road in Greenville, Ind.

According to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, two DirecTV employees entered a home to do utilities work. Authorities say the owner introduced them to the dog -- a German Shepherd -- and there were no problems, until the workers had to call a supervisor for assistance.

When the supervisor arrived at the home, authorities say the dog attacked him.

We're told the man had significant injuries -- possibly to his face. He was transported to University Hospital by helicopter.

Police say they were told it is the first time the dog has bitten anyone.

According to New Albany Animal Control officials, the dog will be quarantined for 10 days by the owner's personal vet. It is currently on rabies vaccination.
