LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Officer Jason Ellis will be honored in Washington, D.C. nearly a year after he was shot and killed.

Officer Ellis' name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

The names of all fallen officers from last year will be read aloud in the nation's capitol on May 13 in recognition of their service and sacrifice.
There will also be a candlelight vigil at the Farmers Market in Bardstown at the same time. The Washington, D.C. vigil will be live streamed.

Ellis was gunned down while removing debris from the road on Bluegrass Parkway last May.

Police have not named any suspects in Ellis' murder.
