LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a burglary came to an abrupt end when the culprit fell though the ceiling.
Police say officers were called to a building on S. Floyd St., near E. Kentucky St., just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday after someone reported that a break-in was taking place.
When officers arrived, a witness told them he saw a man standing on the front porch awning of the building, breaking out the attic vent and climbing into the attic area.
Police say they set up a perimeter around the building and brought in a K9, when an officer saw 45-year-old Shane Swanson try to run out the rear of the building.
He then allegedly fell through the drop ceiling, into an apartment, knocking insulation and ceiling tiles to the floor.
Officers promptly arrested him and charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Police say Swanson was covered in insulation when he was taken into custody.
