Hailo celebrates official launch in Atlanta with Free Taxi Weekend for consumers

ATLANTA, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hailo – the smartphone app that gets you a ride in two taps – today expanded its services to Atlanta. In an effort to make life a little easier for consumers, Hailo is bringing hundreds of taxis to residents and visitors through Hailo's convenient smartphone app, simplifying travel around the busy metro Atlanta area.

To kick off the expansion, Hailo is offering a Free Taxi Weekend. This Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, first time users in Atlanta can simply download the smartphone app and enter the promotional code FTW20 to save $20 on their first Hailo ride.

"We've had our sights set on expanding to Atlanta in order to help modernize its taxi system with on-demand hailing from your phone -- seamlessly accepting credit cards for all rides," said Kevin Hatfield, Co-President of Hailo North America. "Atlantans now have access to easy transportation both in and out of the perimeter, making life a little more convenient with safe, reliable rides at the push of a button."

Hailo's expansion in Atlanta is important to local economic development. Hailo has made strides in the community by forming key partnerships with local organizations, such as the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Invest Atlanta.

"We are pleased to welcome Hailo to Atlanta, the global hub of mobile technology development," said Gregg Simon, director, technology industry development at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. "Hailo will certainly help make life a little easier for our busy residents."

"Atlanta is in good company as we join other cities around the world in welcoming Hailo as a safe transportation option," said Kevin Johnson, senior economic development officer of Invest Atlanta. "We love to see technology leveraged as a tool to help Atlantans get where they want to go affordably and safely, which is why we're excited about Hailo's launch."

For a chance to win free cab rides and Hailo prizes, keep an eye out for the iconic Hailo London Cab that made the trek across the pond to celebrate Hailo's launch in Atlanta.
