Creekside Jam will raise funds for The Parklands of Floyds Fork

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Creekside Jam, a Parklands Benefit, is set to take place on Friday, Aug. 1, and will directly benefit The Parklands of Floyds Fork.

According to a news release, the concert will feature bluegrass and newgrass performances by Kentucky's very own 14-time Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, "newgrass" innovator and legend and four-time International Bluegrass Music Assoc. Mandolin Player of the Year, Sam Bush, and Rhonda Vincent, crowned the "new queen of bluegrass" by the Wall Street Journal.

For the first time, The Parklands will utilize the Humana Grand Allee, located in Beckley Creek Park, as the host site.

Guests at the event are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the sights and sounds of the evening. In addition to a night of bluegrass music, park supporters will also enjoy a variety of food and beverage vendors.

Tickets for the event will be available online beginning Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $40 for Parklands members and $55 for non-members, to day-of-show general admission tickets for $65. Children under 10 will be admitted free with an adult paid admission. Tickets are available at: A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $100. VIP tickets include access to preferred parking and an exclusive VIP lounge featuring private restrooms, bars, comfortable seating and complimentary food and beverages.

This first-time event will welcome thousands of park supporters as well as many new visitors to The Parklands. Organizers plan for the concert to become an annual celebration and fundraiser for the parks. All event proceeds support The Parklands of Floyds Fork's annual fund, helping preserve the current and future trees, trails, landscaping, facilities, and programming in The Parklands.

The park is a donor-supported public park, 21st Century Parks relies on the community's support to annually maintain The Parklands of Floyds Fork. Memberships, facility sales, programming revenue, an endowment, and fundraising events such as Creekside Jam help to raise the over $1 million needed annually to maintain the public greenspace.
