FBI investigating alleged DerbyDeals.com scam

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The FBI is now investigating DerbyDeals.com after dozens of customers in several states claim those behind the website scammed them.

DerbyDeals.com promised lodging and tickets to this year's Kentucky Oaks and Derby. New Albany Police say those who purchased the deal either didn't have a hotel, or tickets or the quality was not what was promised, and have now turned the case over to federal investigators.

The Louisville Division of the FBI says it has received information alleging the ticket and hotel package scam and is seeking the public’s help in identifying additional victims of fraud associated with the purchase of tickets or ticket packages from the website.

Anyone who believes they were defrauded by DerbyDeals.com, please contact the Louisville Office of the FBI at Louisville.ls@ic.fbi.gov.

The business' address is listed in New Albany. Investigators say the owner is Scott Davis, who lives in Jeffersonville.
