LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Fire Department's Metro Arson Unit has arrested a woman they say is responsible for a fire at a vacant house.

The fire took place Thursday, just before 10:30 a.m. at a vacant house on Humler St., near the intersection of Maple St. and S. 22nd St.

Authorities say 54-year-old Vanessa J. Pickett admitted to entering the vacant house and being inside the bathroom. A fire was started while she was inside the bathroom, according to an arrest report. That fire caused extensive damage to the house.

Fire investigators say Pickett admitted she was the only one in the house at the time, and they say her actions, "caused the fire to occur." It is not clear from the arrest report how the fire was started.

She was arrested and charged with second degree burglary and third degree arson.
