MONTGOMERY, Ind. (WDRB) -- The body of 25-year-old Jacob L. Duncan, of Louisville, was recovered from Dogwood Lake on Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area Saturday morning.

According to investigators in Indiana, Duncan and a co-worker were camping nearby when they launched a boat on the lake Friday night. A short time later, the 14-foot aluminum boat began taking on water and sank in about 10 feet of water.

Duncan's co-worker Frank Reflao, of Mt. Washington, held on to a cooler to stay afloat as the two men drifted apart in the water. A nearby camper heard their calls and launched a boat to assist.

Refalo was pulled out the water, but Duncan could not be located. Refalo was treated for hypothermia and released.

Duncan's body was recovered in 10 feet of water approximately 30 feet from where the boat was found.

The incident is still under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The boat will be inspected and function tested.
