Jeffersonville Fire Truck slides off shoulder in rain, ends up in creek

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersonville fire truck ended up in a creek during Saturday's heavy rains. Chief Eric Hedrick says the crew on board was responding to a house fire caused by lightning, when one of the tires slid on the wet shoulder.

It happened on Charlestown Pike, which the chief says is very narrow. The driver tried to get the truck back on the road, but couldn't.

It hit a telephone pole, some bushes, and then ended up in a creek. All three were taken to the hospital to be checked out, but are fine. No other cars were involved.
The truck was damaged, and later towed.
