HILLVIEW, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hillview police requested SWAT assistance in serving six warrants to a man on Brookley Drive in Bullitt County. LMPD SWAT was on scene as a precaution when the man came out of his home and surrendered peacefully.
According to Hillview police, 40-year-old Denny Cary Jr. was facing charges that included wanton endangerment first degree, wanton endangerment second degree, fleeing and evading police, and an escape charge.
Hillview police say Cary never threatened police, but simply told an officer he wasn't going to come out of the house. After the verbal exchange, he ran into the attic of the house to hide. When officers looked in the window, they said they saw ammunition lying on a table inside the home.
Major Ken Straughn says when Cary realized SWAT was going to come into his home, he came out of the attic and surrendered to police.
Straughn says charges relating to Sunday night's incident will be determined by the arresting officer. Staughn says no weapons were found on Cary or in the home.
The Bullitt County Sheriff's office were on scene to assist along with LMPD.
