LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say they've arrested a woman after she tried to kill the father of her three children.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Dixie Hwy., near the corner of Appleton Lane, shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday. Police say 26-year-old Shanice N. Brown was driving a van with her three children inside, when she swerved and tried to hit the man, who was walking on the side of the road.

Police say she struck him, then hit a pole.

According to the arrest report, the attack occurred a short time after a domestic violence incident in which Brown claimed she had slapped him in the face and he had punched her in the face. She also allegedly admitted to chasing him with a rock before she got in the van and struck him.

Police say she told them she "wanted him to leave her alone and she wanted to put an end to it."

Brown was arrested and charged with attempted murder, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.
