Louisville's Hometown Tourist Celebration features the city's best attractions

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --  Keith Kaiser tours the great city of Louisville and shows you how to save money while checking out its best attractions.

Louisville's Hometown Tourist Celebration, continuing through May 31st, encourages local residents to be a tourist in their own hometown.

This year, 77 area attractions, hotels and restaurants are offering deep discounts for anyone with a valid Kentucky or Indiana ID, local college ID or military ID.

Held each year in conjunction with National Travel & Tourism Week, Louisville's month long Hometown Tourist Celebration has been going on for more than a decade.

Tourism supports 31,000 jobs in Louisville with an annual payroll of $655 million.

Louisville hosts 12.7 million visitors annually.

Over 5 million visitors come to Louisville each year to visit friends and relatives.
