POLICE: Man stole $3,000 worth of electronics from Louisville business

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested a man over four years after they say he stole electronics worth thousands of dollars from a local business.

David Lee Zickel was taken into custody by authorities on May 13 for allegedly taking multiple items from Century Entertainment, located at 7813 Beulah Church Rd., in Nov. 2009, according to an arrest report.

Police records say Zickel walked into the store and told an employee that he was buying a new home with Century Mortgage, which is a partnering business with Century Entertainment. Zickel allegedly provided some paperwork to Century Mortgage, but he had not been approved for a loan, according to police.

Police records say Zickel proceeded to pick out several televisions, a surround sound system, and DVD player. The items cost an estimated total of $3,000.

An employee of the business helped Zickel load the merchandise into a vehicle. Police say Zickel then drove away, and did not come back into the store to pay for the items.

Store employees contacted Zickel by phone, and he told them he would come back and pay for the items. Police say he has not done so and disconnected his telephone number.

A store employee was able to positively identify Zickel in court, according to police. Zickel was arrested and charged with theft.
