Lawyer wants trial of man accused of killing Purdue University student moved

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new lawyer for a man charged with killing a fellow Purdue University student in a classroom is asking a judge to move the trial to another county.

Cody Cousins' public defender says it would be impossible for Cousins to get a fair trial if jurors were drawn from a county where Purdue is the largest employer.

Cousins is charged with murder in the January shooting and stabbing of 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wisconsin. The lawyer is also seeking funding for a mental health evaluation for the 23-year-old, who is being treated for schizophrenia.
