GM announces five recalls affecting nearly 3 million cars

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- GM announcing five new recalls affecting nearly 3 million cars.

Of the 2.7 million cars being recalled, most of them have a wiring problem. The auto giant says the issue is tied to more than a dozen accidents and at least two injuries. GM issued a service bulletin to dealerships in 2008 about the flaw, but never ordered a recall.

The company estimates the recalls will cost $200 million to fix.

GM has recalled 11 million cars, trucks and SUVs this year.
