LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man wanted in connection with a homicide at Beecher Terrace last month has been arrested.
According to police documents, detectives arrested 21-year-old LeRoy Morris for a murder at the Beecher Terrace Apartments last month. Police say he killed Johnny Hebert on Fisk Court on April 29.
He's charged with murder, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Another man, 21-year-old Kelen Slaughter, is accused of helping Morris hide from police. He was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say they spotted Morris leaving Slaughter's home in the 3700 block of Wheatmore. When police questioned Slaughter, he denied knowing Morris and told police he and his daughter were the only people in the apartment.
According to the arrest report, as police were searching the apartment, Morris came out of a back bedroom and surrendered.
Police also recovered several bags of a substance believed to be crack cocaine.
