LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Southeast Bullitt Fire Department has paid back all the money it owed for the Chief falsifying training records.

The Kentucky Fire Commission says the department paid back $18,600 last month. The Commission had originally estimated that $30,000 was owed, but says after reviewing files it did not make pension contributions for Chief Julius Hatfield.

Hatfield admitted in an email that he wasn't at training and left for his board meetings numerous times.

Training is tied to state aid and incentive pay.

Hatfield has denied our repeated requests for an interview.
