Suspect dies after officer involved shooting in Marion County

LEBANON, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating after a Lebanon resident was killed in an officer involved shooting Friday morning.

According to a news release, 38-year-old Joseph L. Livers, III of Lebanon,  was taken from his residence to Springview Hospital on May 16 following the shooting and was pronounced dead at 10:29 a.m.

State Police tell us Post 15 received a call from the Marion County Sheriff’s office just after 9 a.m. eastern time in reference to a suicidal subject at a residence in the 8000 block of St. Joe Road in Marion County.

Troopers arrived at the location around 9:30 a.m. and reported shots fired at approximately 9:38 a.m.

Two State Troopers and one Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer at the scene were not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
