LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools hosted the 37th annual GED graduation Friday night at Male High School.

The ceremony took place in the Durrett Auditorium of Male High School and Gheens Academy. Over 200 graduates attended the ceremony to receive their GED diploma.

Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson spoke to the graduates about about continuing education and congratulated them for making the choice and putting in the work.

"If you had not gone back to get your GED, on average, you would lose $10,000-$12,000 a year in income as a high school dropout, rather than a high school graduate," Abramson said.
