LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A Seven-year-old has died after a fatal car wreck at the intersection of Rivers Edge and Terry Rd, according to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley. Officials have not released any identities.

The Jefferson County Coroner's office says seven-year-old Ella Ralph died of multiple traumatic injuries at the scene.

The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. and involved an SUV and another vehicle. Four others were taken to the hospital with varying injuries.

Terry road was shut down as LMPD investigated the accident. Investigators say a Jeep crossed the center line while attempting to pass another vehicle. The Jeep collided head on with a car, causing it to flip and land upside-down.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to University Hospital with what officers say were life-threatening injuries.

The unknown model Chevy car was carrying three young girls. The 13-year-old and 11-year-old girls were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the car was also taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries.

A spokesperson says no charges have been filed, but the collision remains under investigation.

The coroner's office says funeral arrangements for Ralph will be organized by Hardy Funeral Home.
