LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three Louisville men are accused of threatening a man's life and trying to break into his sister's home before a relative chased them off with a handgun.

Metro Police say 33-year-old Joshua Barry and two accomplices, Adam Osborne and Gerald Roach, confronted the victim at 5th and Evelyn Avenue with a hatchet and makeshift spear on Friday night.

When the victim ran to his sister's house, police say the suspects followed him and smashed out the window on the front door.

According to an arrest report, the victim feared for his life and confronted the suspects with a knife.

The confrontation continued at the suspects' vehicle, when police say a relative of the victims, Darius Miller, arrived on the scene and fired two rounds from a handgun.

The suspects fled the scene, but police were able to locate the vehicle and arrest them.

Meanwhile, police say Miller followed after Barry and fired an additional round at him before pistol-whipping him in the head. Police arrested Miller and charged him with assault and wanton endangerment.

Barry and Osborne are charged with burglary.
