LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Southern Indiana students are going to bat for sick kids.

North Harrison Elementary students presented Kosair Children's Hospital with a check for more than $29,000.

The money was raised during the school's annual Walk-a-Thon.

The top fundraisers were a brother and sister team, with personal ties to the children's hospital.

"Many of our children have had stays there, and they've been taken care of, and we want to give back, and we feel like that's an important lesson to teach our children and that we give back," said Lisa Jones, principal for North Harrison Elementary.

Over the past 26 years, the school has given more than $325,000 to the hospital.
