LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested two men for insurance fraud they committed with a U-Haul truck in 2010.

Michael Buck, along with a co-defendant, were arrested Monday afternoon, after police say they rented a U-Haul truck and purchased supplemental insurance with the intention of crashing the vehicle in order to collect on a claim.

Police say the crash occurred on August 30, 2010 in Louisville. Police also say claims and settlement demands were presented to Repwest Insurance in an amount totaling more than $60,000. Repwest paid out funds of $24,000.

Claims were also issued to Nationwide Insurance.

Buck's co-defendant gave a recorded confession stating that the collision was intentionally staged for insurance fraud purposes, according to authorities.

Buck and his co-defendant are charged with insurance fraud.
