LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – LMPD says two men are dead following a shooting at Beecher Terrace Tuesday night. Detectives are not seeking any outstanding suspects because they believe the two victims shot each other, police said.

Beecher Terrace is the same area where police responded to another deadly shooting three weeks ago at 12th and Fisk Court.

LMPD had more than a dozen squad cars on scene but still had a hard time keeping people back.

“When you end up with two suspects in two different locations, needless to say, you want to barricade off the entire area," said LMPD Spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.

Smiley says officers got the call around 6:30 p.m. for the shootings at 12th and Cedar Court.

Officers found two black men in their 20s not far from each other. One was near a courtyard and the other was found a couple buildings down.

Paramedics administered CPR, but the men later died.

It's a pretty busy area so a lot of people were outside and might've been witnesses. A lot of yellow crime tape and dozens of police cars surrounded the scene, so you can imagine that neighbors were curious about what was going on.

One resident, who was awakened by the gun shots, says she's worried about her kids' safety.

“This is the second time someone got shot here in one month," she said. "I was outside earlier, and I'm glad I didn't walk my kids around my neighborhood, because anything could've happened. This is crazy, I hope they tear these projects down they need to do it, they need to, for real."
