SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office says officers have ruled out the person of interest in the murder case of a woman who was found shot near the Knob Creek Gun Range.

Authorities say 21-year-old Don'Esha McStoots was found shot in the back on May 9.

Earlier Thursday, investigators released details of a person of interest, seen with McStoots at Jerry's Liquor Store just 20 minutes before authorities say she was murdered.

Bullitt Co. Sheriff's Lt. Mike Murdoch said the person of interest voluntarily came into the office Thursday evening. He is cooperating with detectives and is not a murder suspect.

The owner of Knob Creek Gun Range, Kenny Sumner, says he found McStoots near his business.

He rushed her to Southwest Hospital, where she later died.

If anyone has information in this case, call the Bullitt County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division at 502-543-2514.
