LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds enjoyed some shopping, music, and fun as part of a new event in Southern Indiana.

The Boomtown Ball and Festival will serve as the kick-off for the Bicentennial Park Summer concert series.

It included an outdoor flea market, food from local restaurants, and music. The all-day festival was held in downtown New Albany.

Mayor Jeff Gahan says the turnout was what he had hoped for. "This is the first time we've ever done it," Gahan said, "It's kinda the kick-off. I think there's enough interest right now that I think we'll like to try it again."

The band Houndmouth was also performing this evening at the Grand.

The group is originally from southern Indiana.. and have appeared on national tv shows like "Conan" and "David Letterman".
