LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The identity of a man killed in a motorcycle crash in southern Jefferson County Monday night has been released.

Deputy Coroner Sam Weakley tells WDRB 28-year-old Shelby McNew died from multiple blunt force injuries after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle S. Park Road just west of Interstate 65. We're told he crossed the center line and slammed into a guardrail.

NcNew was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:18 p.m. He was not wearing a helmet.

Police say speed may have been a factor in the crash. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the police tipline at 574-LMPD.
