LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Texas Roadhouse is considering adding up to 150 jobs at its Louisville headquarters over the next decade, according to state documents.

On Thursday, a Kentucky board offered Texas Roadhouse up to $3.5 million in economic development incentives from the state and Louisville Metro government if it follows through with the expansion.

The company, which operates or franchises 430 restaurants nationwide, currently has 277 employees in Kentucky, according to documents from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority. Texas Roadhouse’s corporate office is at 6040 Dutchmans Lane.

Texas Roadhouse plans to add 30 jobs within the first three years, growing to 100 jobs by the fifth year and to 150 jobs by the eighth year, according to a report prepared by staff with the state finance authority.

The document doesn’t say what types of jobs the company plans to add – only that it’s looking at “expanding its headquarters to operate more efficiently.” The jobs would pay an average of $33 an hour, including the value of employee benefits like health insurance.

The expansion would cost Texas Roadhouse $13.4 million in all, including additional rent, building improvements and equipment, according to the state.

A Texas Roadhouse spokesman did not return a call Thursday.

Texas Roadhouse – which owns the vast majority of its restaurants – plans to open 25 to 30 eateries in 2014, with total capital spending of at least $100 million.

The company grew both its revenues and profits by 13 percent last year from the year before.  In 2013, Texas Roadhouse had net income of $80 million on $1.4 billion in revenue.
