Police say former LRC director did nothing wrong by shredding documents

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Legislative Research Commission Director did not break any laws by shredding documents.

That's what police have determined after wrapping up the investigation into Bobby Sherman.

Sherman's office was investigating sexual assault complaints against former state lawmaker John Arnold. Sherman was accused of destroying documents involving those complaints.

Two days after he resigned last fall, Sherman says he went to his office with other LRC staffers to clean it out and shredded only junk mail and personal documents.
