New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey asks ISP to investigate the department

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) -- New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey has asked the Indiana State Police to investigate the New Albany Police Department.

At the Police Merit Commission Meeting earlier this year, officer Laura Schook presented a list of grievances to the commission. The report included allegations of officers falsifying comp time and inappropriate conduct.

Newly appointed Police Chief Todd Bailey has requested an investigation by the Indiana State Police.

“I want to ensure that our department is running efficiently and with integrity, and that is why I have asked for this third party inquiry,” stated Police Chief Todd Bailey in a press release.

Mayor Jeff Gahan said in a statement, “I support the action taken by Chief Bailey – this is the right thing to do. Once the review is completed, we will then determine the appropriate course of action.”
