Clarksville Chalk Walk get kids moving, drawing

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- People of all ages helped cover the pavement in art Saturday in Clarksville.

It was part of the first-ever Clarksville Chalk Walk Festival. It happened Saturday morning at the Clarksville Town Hall building.

Participants paid just five dollars to decorate the parking lot in individual artwork.

Programming coordinator Ken Conklin says the sidewalk art is what's it's all about. “It really varies on the artwork," Conklin said, "we've had some kids...4-year-olds that can do better artwork than some 44 year olds."

Conklin says they filled all 35 spots this year and organizers plan to do the festival again next year. However, they say they will need more space.

Jasper, Indiana and Elizabethtown have similar festivals.
