LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police arrested a man after they say he impersonated an LMPD cop and committed burglary.

Robert Bailey was arrested Friday morning at the intersection of New Cut Rd. and West Kenwood, after police say he broke into a business located on New Cut Rd.

Police records indicate that Bailey was highly intoxicated when they arrived at the scene.

Authorities say Bailey also told them he was an LMPD cop with the department's 4th division, however Bailey was unable to show authorities any police credentials.

Police say Bailey made threats against an arresting police officer, telling the officer, "I'm going to kill you when I get out."

A police report says Bailey took $1,000 worth of hand tools and equipment from the business and caused another $500 in damage.

Bailey is charged with burglary, impersonating a peace officer, terroristic threatening, and public intoxication.
