Ground breaks on New Albany recreational water park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - New Albany families will soon have a new place to cool off during the hot summer months.

Officials broke ground on a new recreational water park Monday morning.

There are currently no public pools in New Albany, and officials hope that this complex will offer more options for children and families alike.

"I think this is an example of one of those things that's going to make New Albany a better place to live. I think it's a great place to live now and it's going to be an even greater place when we get this park open," said Dr. Irving Joshua, president for the Redevelopment Commission.

The water park is being built at the location of the old Camille Wright Public Pool.

Information about when the pool is expected to be complete has not been released.
