All-out review ordered of compensation policies for Kentucky lawmakers

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A patchwork of law and policies is fattening the wallets of some lower-ranking Kentucky lawmakers -- and the news has prompted an all-out review.

Representative Keith Hall had the highest compensation of any House member last year at more than $86,000 -- that's $3,000 more than House Speaker Greg Stumbo.

An even larger gap --  one of more than $22,000 -- exists between Dan Seum and Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer.

The Senate president wants the policies on paying expenses reviewed, with a recommendation by July 1.
