ONLY ON WDRB: Mother speaks out about attempted abduction of her 3-year-old son

HILLVIEW, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say there has been an attempted abduction in Hillview involving a 3-year-old boy.

On Memorial Day, around 2 p.m., Hillview Police say a suspicious vehicle was driving on Ashley Court, and it stopped at one house where there was a 3-year-old boy in the yard.

The boy's mother, Rachel Lee, says the family had just got back from biking.

"It was hot, so I went to get popsicles and when I came out, there was a lady who had gotten out of her car and approached my son," Lee said. "I just had a bad feeling from the moment I've seen her talking to him. I yelled as I was coming out the door and she immediately got back in her car and left."
Lee is hoping the public and police will help find the woman who was driving what looked like a white 2005 Honda Accord with tinted windows. She says the car turned into the cul de sac and was facing outward for a quick getaway. The car door was open.

Lee says her son told her the woman had asked him to get in the car and she was really nice.

"Of course it's terrifying," Lee said. "It's just not something you think will ever happen to you, and it did."
She says the car had an out of state license plate, but she and her neighbors were not able to see it clearly.

Lee said, "She was wearing a nurse's uniform, scrubs kind of thing. Also, she had a badge of some type, a badge around her neck, and she was an older woman, kind of heavyset."

"What worries me is people, like, in a nurses' uniform, usually people trust them: nurses, doctors or whatever," said Hillview Police Officer Roy Raines. "If the mother had been in the house any longer, we could have had a different circumstance."
Hillview Police are keeping a lookout for the car and woman who is described to have dark hair. The mother says the woman's hair was pulled back.

Neighbors are now on edge too, hearing about similar cases on social media, but police have not confirmed those.

Lee said, "I guess about four days ago, just couple miles away, they gave same description, only that is was a male."
Anyone with information on the case can call Hillview Police.
