LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested an Elizabethtown, Ky. man after he robbed two area businesses.

The first robbery took place on Monday, Nov. 25, at the Dollar General on Medallion Court, near the intersection Rangeland Road and Poplar Level Road. Police say 40-year-old Shawn Brothers walked into the store, pulled a handgun and took business cash, before fleeing.

The second robbery occurred on Monday, Dec. 9, when police say Brothers entered the First American Cash Advance store on Preston Highway, near E. Indian Trial, and again pulled a handgun. Brothers allegedly demanded business cash, but the victim fled through a rear door before Brothers was able to get any.

Brothers was arrested at the corner of 1st Street and Broadway just after 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. He is charged with two counts of first degree robbery.
