Atherton H.S. to hold meeting on "gender identity" policy Thursday evening

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A debate continues today at Atherton High School on whether a male, transgender student can use the girls restroom and locker room.

The school's Site-Based Decision Making Council voted in May to add "gender identity" to its non-discrimination policy. The principal said he would allow students to use the restroom of their gender identity.

The SBDM council met again Tuesday with students and parents to consider whether the principal's decision should be overturned.

The school will host another meeting at tonight at five. A vote on the issue could come after that.
