Prices slashed on Derby merchandise during KDF "Yard Sale"

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're interested in Derby themed merchandise, but don't want to pay full price, you may want to check out the Kentucky Derby Festival's yard sale.

The sale ran from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, and continues from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the KDF office at 1001 S. Third Street in Old Louisville.

All items -- from shirts to posters to pins and glasses -- are priced to sell at 50 percent off the original retail price.

This is the 13th year for the sale, which has become very popular.

"We actually had a few dozen folks already lined up around our building this morning before we opened up at 8 o'clock," said KDF spokeswoman Aimee Boyd.

Boyd says "the deals will continue, and on Saturday we'll probably start cutting the prices a little more. So we've got a lot of great deals."

The money raised from the sale helps fund KDF's events throughout the year.
