LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- They're known for fulfilling the wishes of kids who are battling life-threatening medical conditions. Saturday, they hosted a walk to raise money, to grant even more.
That's what more than 500 people were doing at Cardinal Stadium, as they took part in the 4th annual "Make A Wish" walk. They could either walk one mile or three miles.
This year, "Sproutlings Pediatric Day Care and Preschool" sponsored the event for one of its own: Addie Laine. She's living with a heart condition.
She was the honorary wish child today and was recently given a trip to Florida.
"The great thing about a wish is that it lasts for more than just a day and a week," says spokeswoman Jessica Cary, "It's something that provides a family with hope, strength and joy throughout their entire life and it's always a week that they can look back and remember and it's a time to be normal and just have fun as a family."
The fundraiser brought it more than $75,000 in donations.
