LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Indiana Conservation Officer divers located the body of a missing teenager Sunday morning in the Big Blue River, according to Lt. William Browne.

At approximately 10:22 a.m., an Indiana Conservation Officer diver located Jason Moran, 17 of Franklin, IN at the base of a dam in Edinburgh.
Moran was found in close proximity to where he was last seen. He had been missing since Friday afternoon.

Moran, along with three other males and one female, was swimming in the Big Blue River just north of a low-head dam in Edinburgh. Authorities say the female swimmer was swept over the dam and became confined in raging water. The four males then attempted to rescue her. In attempting to aid the female swimmer, the four males also became trapped in the raging water.

Two of the males were able to swim back to shore, and the female swimmer and third male swimmer were pulled from the water unresponsive. Those two are currently at the IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition.

Authorities say the water at the dam had receded enough that divers felt it was safe to attempt a search of the area just below the dam. Authorities say the water was too treacherous over the past few days.
