POLICE: Man caught selling drugs in Steak and Shake parking lot

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Police arrested a man after they say he was found with large amount of various drugs.

Anthony Barton was taken into custody on Friday afternoon in the 1700 block of Bonnyville Blvd., after police say he was caught engaging in a narcotics transaction in the parking lot of a Steak and Shake restaurant located on Dixie Highway.

Police say Barton told them he had a bag of marijuana on him. Police then conducted a search at his home on Bonnyville Blvd. Police records say detectives found a large quantity of heroin, several pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, pills, Suboxone strips, and digital scales.

Police say they also found a large quantity of money that they believed was consistent with trafficking proceeds.

Barton also reportedly gave a taped statement to police claiming that the drugs were in fact his.

Barton was arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
