LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A scathing audit of the VA system brought lawmakers to Capitol Hill for a rare late-night huddle.
One clinic is at Fort Knox, and one is on Dupont Circle in Louisville. Louisville's VA hospital has a better track record than facilities across the country. Auditors found the hospital scheduled 98 percent of all appointments within 30 days.
A spokesperson for the hospital says it will correct any problems at the clinics.
Right now the House and Senate are writing legislation that would allow certain veterans to get medical care in private facilities outside the V-A system.
