ISP: Report of erratic driving leads to drug arrest in Clark County, Ind.

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police arrested a man after someone reported him driving erratically.  

According to Indiana State Police, Derek Wheeler was driving south on I-65 when another driver reported that he ran off the road, hit the cable barrier and then crossed back into a rest area just inside Clark County. 

An ISP officer located Wheeler in the rest area, talked with him and then arrested him. 

Officials say the incident happened just before 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Salem, Indiana native was taken to Clark County Jail. 

According to a press release, Wheeler was arrested for Possession of Heroin, Class D Felony; Possession of a Syringe, Class D Felony; Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor and Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Class A Misdemeanor.
